From initial manuscript review, art cataloging, copyediting, typesetting and more, you can count on Westchester to help you get your manuscript ready for distribution.

Here's how to order the Editorial & Production Plan:
- Select your genre, choice of trim size and enter your manuscript word count below.
- Review your estimated costs.
- Toggle to include any or all optional services, if interested. Add to your cart.
- Enter your payment information & submit your order.
- Review and digitally sign the Author Agreement.
- Congrats! Your Westchester customer representative will reach out to get you started!
Optional Add-on Services
Proofreading Services
A proofreader can be a valuable add-on for your project. Proofreaders will typically review your first-pass typeset pages to make sure that all the copyedits have been incorporated properly within your text. They'll do the detailed work of comparing the copyedited manuscript to the typeset one – page by page. They're not your copyeditor, however, they will ensure that all the work done by the copyeditor is captured and presented accurately after your content has been typeset and before you receive it to review.
Cold Read Services
Our editorial experts will read all the final pages of your manuscript before it gets delivered to your distribution channel. Think of this as your final quality check with fresh eyes. This service is available with the Editorial & Production Package.
Developmental Editing
Developmental editing typically occurs before copyediting. A developmental editor thoroughly reviews your manuscript, focusing on content, organizational structure, tone and continuity.
Once reviewed, the developmental editor will provide recommendations for areas of the manuscript that may need fine-tuning or adjustments.
Cover Design Services
Never judge a book by its cover? We know that isn't true - a great book cover catches the eye of your potential readers and can impact (positively or negatively) your total books sold. Our designers can help you create the perfect cover for your next title. Available as an add-on service with Production or Editorial & Production packages.

- Need a different trim size? Contact us with what you're looking for
- Choice of interior design (more than 25 to choose from!) You will select your interior design with your Westchester representative during your project.
- Art assessment to meet IngramSpark print requirements
- File cleanup and standardization
- Style checks for all elements
- Two passes for author review before final delivery
- Castoff
- Final checks, including table of contents, index, bibliography, images, trim and pagination
- Delivery of print-ready PDF and eBook files (WCAG 2.0 assuming alt-text is provided)
